June 2004
Another month goes by and I am so pleased with the many wonderful things that are happening in your Lodge. Seven brothers were raised on the 11th of May. The meeting was very well attended, the officers and cast did a great job, and I would call the night a success. This means that at our steak fry on the 1st of June, fourteen new brothers should sign the by-laws. Please plan on attending this meeting and don’t forget that you need reservations for the steak fry. Come down, support the work of Worshipful Paul Liese and the officers of 1996, and enjoy a great meal and night of brotherhood. The 50’s dance was a great success. Thanks to all who made it so; brothers Jesse Edwards, Steve Charron, along with Missy Edwards, Colleen Karpovitz, and all who supported it. The ladies luncheon was another great afternoon. I was happy to have almost 80 in attendance, including 29 men, all enjoying a fine meal and wonderful entertainment. If you were not there, you missed a great day. Plan on making our next one in December. By the time you read this we should have the “climate controlled” storage unit emptied and be reviewing our inventory to see what should stay and be of use, what should be repaired and displayed, what we should sell, or what has outlived its usefulness and should be discarded. We will have walked for Muscular Dystrophy and are planning a number of other charitable events, to which you will all receive notice. Please help us by supporting these events. The golf tournament is rapidly approaching, and we are still looking for more golfers, sponsors, and volunteers. This is a major undertaking, and it sure would be nice to get more support from members of the Lodge. It’s a great day, and for a good cause. The Fellow Craft Club will meet on the 3rd Wednesday, and we would like to have a hi-lo-jack tourney for the members. Come to the meeting at 7:30, pay your dollar to become a member, and plan on $5.00 for an entry fee. There will be two man teams, so pick your partner and join us. Dues are long overdue and there are still a number of brothers who have not yet paid. Please get them in. I know that everyone thinks we are in fat city financially, and although we are doing well, your dues are a major part of funding the Lodge. We are trying to provide a good well rounded program for you and your families, and I think we are doing it well. If you happen to be out of state or unable to take part because of health issues and unable to attend, I am indeed sorry, but we cannot do anything about that. If you choose not to be active; that is your business, and if you are a brother who is able and does attend; thank you. It doesn’t matter what category you happen to be in, we all share in the responsibility of helping the Lodge to meet its goals, and the expectations of the brothers. One way to do that is to pay our dues in a timely manner. If there still remains any confusion regarding the bill, feel free to call me. Please brothers, if you haven’t already done so, remit your dues today. On the level John
