My Brothers,

     October promises to be an extremely busy month for Harmony Lodge. We will start with our annual step up night and I am hoping to see many of you on the sidelines to encourage our officers as the try their new chairs. I for one am looking forward to seeing our Senior Warden wield the gavel in the East.

     Fidelity DeMolay will present a semi-public installation on October 5th. Fidelity is a large part of the future of Harmony and deserves our full support, it would be to our benefit to come out for this occasion and show our appreciation to the boys and especially the adults who give so freely of their time.

     Calling all Past Masters of Harmony, please mark your calendar for October 10th the Lodge is holding a Past Masters night at the Doric Masonic Center, don’t miss this opportunity to have input regarding the future on the Lodge.

     A Masonic open house is scheduled for October 13th at the Doric Masonic Center. This open house is a State wide function organized by the Grand Lodge of Rhode Island and is intended to promote Masonry and to provide an opportunity for interested men to find out something about our organization. You will see television advertizing and hear radio spots promoting this open house. I would appreciate anyone volunteering to help at this event. If you would like to help please call me or the Senior Warden.

     Our Annual Halloween party is scheduled for October 20th, please note that this is a change from its original date. I recommend attendance at this party as it always proves to be a lot of fun. Remember this is an adult party no one under 21admitted.

     Our Senior Warden has asked me to remind all that the  Harmony Cape Getaway Weekend is scheduled for the 15th, 16th and 17th of February 2008.

     I cannot end this message without reference to the tragic death of Brother, Worshipful Joseph McGrath, words cannot express the sorrow that I feel at his passing. Joe was my friend and brother and because of his faith in me I became Master of Harmony. We will all miss his smiling announcement, “THE FIRST MASTER OF THE NEW MILLENNIUM”
