January 2008
Stephen Charron
WORSHIPFUL MASTER
HARMONY LODGE #9 F&AM
2007 - 2008
Hello Brethren,
I pray that each of you have had a wonderful holiday season, holding the true message of such joyous holidays dear to your heart. In our haste to celebrate the season, let us continue to embrace the universal spirit of the holidays; Peace on Earth, goodwill to all mankind.
By special dispensation, the January meeting will be on Jan. 8th, the 2nd Tuesday of the month, as the first Tues. is New Years Day. I regret I will be unable to attend the January meeting as I will be journeying with Worshipfuls Kurtz and French across the pond to attend the annual communication of our sister lodge, Lodge Harmony #156 in Plymouth, England. I urge each and every one of you to attend this meeting as we will be voting on at least 12 applications for membership (they keep coming in). Also you will get a sneak preview for next year as the Senior Warden steps up to the East in my absence. My only regret is I will not see Bro. Ogilvie’s first time in the East. Our travels through the officer’s line together leave me confident that the care of the craft is in good hands while I once again embrace the fellowship extended by our English brothers.
Once back from England, the Special Ladie’s visitation program will be kicked into high gear. EVERYONE will be asked to visit one lady once a year. So call me at 919-8459 and sign up for this essential program.
Reservations for the Cape Cod Getaway Weekend are being accepted. You don’t want to miss this! A fun filled weekend for only $200 per couple. Deposits of $100 are due now! Checks only, please, no cash, payable to Harmony Lodge. For reservations, call me at 919-8459.
As always, our fellowcraft Club meets the third Wed. of each month. The Fellowcraft Club does so very much for your Lodge, come on down and join in the fun. The fellowcraft Club will be putting on the Game Dinner on March 2nd, so lots of help planning the event is needed now.
Our District Deputy, the R.W. Wyman P. Hallstrom III, will visit TS Webb on Jan. 22nd, 2008, and Mt Vernon Lodge on Feb. 7th, 2008. I urge all to join me in being a part of his suite on those visitations. We also look forward to the District Deputy’s visitation to Harmony on March 4th, 2008.
Our Grand Master, the Most Worshipful Steven E. Smith, will be visiting Harmony Lodge #9 on Feb. 5th, 2008. It would be wonderful to greet the Most Worshipful with full sidelines, so please make every effort to attend.
Finally, we will be holding THREE Entered Apprentices degrees, Jan 29th, 30th, and 31st, respectively, at 7:30pm. Degree work is greatly inspired by your support so please come see your officers do the work of the Lodge on those evenings.
Reviewing this, my central message seems to be a very basic one. Your lodge will be as good as YOU make it. Inertia is a terrible thing, so move your duffs and come join your brothers in the craft. It ain’t easy being Harmony, but it sure is fun!
Fraternally & Sincerely,
Steve
