December 2008
James I. Ogilvie
WORSHIPFUL MASTER
HARMONY LODGE #9 F&AM
2008 - 2009
Dear Brethren,
Wow, is all I can say! I can not express to you the feeling of pride I have right now, becoming your Master. I truly hope that I will serve you as well as the men that have preceded me. On November 18th, we held our Annual Communication at the Doric Masonic Center and I must say I was extremely impressed by the turn out. I would like to thank all of the brothers, families and friends who came out to see Wor. Steve Charron complete his absolutely amazing year and to see me and our officers be installed.
The weight of responsibility and leadership is a heavy mantel to wear and I have learned that to be able to lead, you must have great people surrounding you. I believe that I am fortunate to have so many dedicated and skilled brothers to help me through out the year. As it has been said before, “one person can not do it all”. I ask you all, to come out and support your lodge. Please, come to the meetings, come to the events and volunteer where you can. Share the fraternity the way it should be, not just in the lodge but within your lives!
So here we are, December and the holidays will soon be on us. December is a time of giving and of Charity and we as Freemasons should be especially mindful of these two poignant aspects of the Holiday Season. We have a busy month coming up, between our Ladies Luncheon on the 6th, the Children’s Party on the 13th and the Sick and Shut in Visitation on the 20th. I would ask that you make your reservations for the Ladies’ Luncheon and the Children’s Christmas Party with Brother Mike Dixon, our Senior Steward at 401-480-6382. Having an accurate count will guarantee that we will have a great time at both events!
For the Sick and Shut-in Visitations, I would ask that any brother who would like to attend to contact our Junior Warder, Robert Kempf at 401-641-5172, to let him know you will be attending. Many hands make light work and it also allows for us as a Lodge to spend more time with our infirmed brothers and Special Ladies.
Brethren, I would like to wish all of you the most joyous of Holidays for you and your families and a very Happy New Year!
Fraternally & Sincerely,
James
