WORSHIPFUL MASTER
HARMONY LODGE #9 F&AM
2007 - 2008
Hello Brethren,
Please forgive my self indulgence, but a very wonderful Masonic lady, Lois Brookins Cozart, was lost to us this past February after a long and painful battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Throughout her life, she was active in many concordant bodies, as well as President of the Ladies Auxiliary of Martinez Lodge # 710 in Augusta, Ga. She lovingly supported her husband as he pursued his Masonic career as well. My wife’s mother first embraced me and welcomed me into her home when I was 21; this down-to–earth, unpretentious country lady cherished family and spoiled her six grandchildren properly. I couldn’t have loved her more if she was my own mother. We all miss her very much.
May 1st will see the first class of 2008 raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason at the Doric Masonic Center at 5:00pm sharp. It is my hope that as many of you that can make it will choose to come out and support our most junior members.
Our Ladies Luncheon under the direction of Wor. Bob Harrup (Cuz) will be Saturday May 10th, 2008 at Chelo’s on Post Rd. at 12 noon. It is requested that all reservations to this delightful afternoon repast be made by calling me at 919-8459 by May 6th at the latest.
Our Fellowcraft club had its March drawing for the Attendance Raffle. Remember you must be present to win. Since the brother whose name was drawn wasn’t present, he did not win the $100 prize which now grows to $150 for the April meeting, which will have occurred by the time you read this. So come to the May 21st meeting of the Fellowcraft club at the Doric Masonic Center at 7:30pm for your chance at the prize and to enjoy the fellowship.
Mark your calendar for the June steak fry/Past Master’s Night, June 3rd. Reservations are a MUST!!! Please call Bro. Mike Dixon at 480-6382 to reserve your steak by June 1st at the very latest. Lodge will open promptly at 5:30pm with dinner afterwards.
While your calendar is out, mark Sunday, July 20th, at 1:00pm for Harmony Lodge’s annual picnic. More details to follow.
Fraternally & Sincerely,
Steve
