February 2009
James I. Ogilvie
WORSHIPFUL MASTER
HARMONY LODGE #9 F&AM
2008 - 2009
My Brothers,
It is amazing to me that we as a fraternity have the opportunity to share something that most, out in this world, do not, true fraternal love. Being the month of February, soon to be Valentine’s day, we should remember that most excellent tenant of Freemasonry, brotherly love, the cement that binds us as a whole. How often do we hear of strife and discord in this world. It is interesting to think, what if more people out in this great wide world shared in our belief of Brotherly love. It truly is a point to ponder upon.
Well now that I am done philosophizing, I hope that you all have been weathering our New England winter weather well. I sure has been a cold one so far and the spring is getting closer, so that silver lining is right there. Before we get there though, I must remind you all that our Cape Weekend is only a few days away and I hope that you have all put in your reservations with Wor. Steve Charron. I must however point out an error that came to my attention. We will NOT be staying at the Yarmouth Resorts as we did last year. This is due to the fact that the facility has chosen to stay shuttered for the winter this year. Instead, we will be holding our Cape Get-A-Way at the Gull Wing Suites, just up the road. This is where our Cape Weekend has been held in the Past for those who have attended.
So, I have to ask, did you make the Movie Night in January? If not, you missed a great time. This event, as well as our Game Night, Dungeons and Dragons Night, and Bowling are open to everyone, friends, family and brothers alike. Please join us at one or all of these events and enjoy. Also, for the movie night in February, being the month of love, we will be having a romantic Comedy, Fifty First Dates. This will be held on February 28th at 7:00PM! Please note the change in time to accommodate the Game dinner preparation.
Speaking of the game dinner, we need as much help as possible. Please make it to the February Fellow Craft Club meeting on February 18th to sign up to help. The Game Dinner is being held on March 1st at the Cranston Portuguese Club and we will need servers. If interested please let Wor. Carmine Depatrillo know! Also, we will need help on the days leading up to the dinner so please, sign up at the meeting.
Also, I would like to congratulate all of our new members who joined our great fraternity in Harmony Lodge during the two EA Degrees that were held at the end of January. Please make sure to get to know these gentlemen and introduce yourselves!
Fraternally & Sincerely,
James
