October 2009
James I. Ogilvie
WORSHIPFUL MASTER
HARMONY LODGE #9 F&AM
2008 - 2009
Hello Brothers,
Fall is in the air, a little sooner then I think most of us would like. However, this is a great time of year in Rhode Island, warm apple pie, hot apple cider, leaves changing colors and good nights for fires. I have to admit that I truly love the fall and especially the Halloween festivities, of course that shouldn’t come as a surprise to many who have joined me during the Lodge Halloween Party.
Speaking of the party, have you bought your tickets yet??? If you haven't purchased your tickets yet, you still have plenty of time. All of the officers have tickets at $10.00 per person. The party is on Saturday, October 24 at the lodge and starts at 7:00PM. This is a fantastic time and as always there will be a costume contest, great food, and games to entertain along with spooky decorations and haunting music! I can not wait to see you all there!
Also, Rhode Island DeMolay and Rhode Island Rainbow will be having a Halloween Party on Friday, October 23, also at the lodge, beginning at 7:00PM. This is a free event and I encourage all of you that if you have a children, grandchildren, nephews or nieces to bring them to the party. It is a great opportunity for you to introduce them to our youth groups and for them to have a great time.
I am hoping that you will be getting this before our Ladies at the Table on October 3. If you haven’t made your reservations, I might be able to fit you in, just call me at 401-942-1108 and I will see what I can do. Also, don’t forget that our October meeting is our Step up meeting where the officers of your lodge will advance to their next station and do the opening and closing. Please come out and support our officers, I know they have all been working hard on their next roles in the lodge. If you do plan on attending the dinner for it, please make sure you get your dinner reservations into our Tyler, Bob Wiggins at 401-397-3858.
I would like to thank all of the members and officers who came out to support our Grand Master, Richard Ault on his first official visitation as Grand Master to Franklin Lodge. We had 15 non Grand Lodge officers from Harmony in attendance and I must say was extremely impressive. I hope that we will top that number on his next visitation on October 2nd. As we did for the last visitation we will be meeting at the Lodge at 6:00PM to carpool up. We will leave the lodge at 6:15PM. Please come out in force and show Richard our support!!!!
As a final note I would like to say Congratulations to Brother Adam Marsland on his recent Marriage to Sara DeCosta. I know how much they care for each other and I wish them the best in their lives together.
Fraternally & Sincerely,
James
